Meter Reading Day
Have you all done your meter readings today?

Obviously no need if you're on a fixed price deal (also no need for COYI as you're on an eighteen figure salary)

Yeah good point…. Only got the gas on a meter as the electric is a smarty…. Will do it when I get home

Re: Meter Reading Day
Will be doing this later for gas. Are you sending the readings to your suppliers, or just holding onto them if needed?

My electricity is on a smart meter, assume the readings are done automatically but not convinced it’s all joined up e.g. best to take a reading anyway?

COYI's salary is on a meter.

Not a smart one though - that would be belittling.

It seems most suppliers websites are offline - demand issue, or nefarious deeds at work to stop you getting the right price...

OVO want to increase my monthly DD for gas and electricity from £120 per month to £200 per month
Apparently I have no choice about this

"It seems most suppliers websites are offline"...

Send the meter readings in an e-mail to their customer services. There should be a way that doesn't go via a web portal/app.

Make sure that you keep a record of the send time & date - and the contents of the email

SO.

Cancel your DD and bank the money then pay the bill online as it comes in. Dont let them store your bank details though.

No.

Fixed standing order same amount as I always pay. Already said to them they ain't getting more. Let the debt build up with millions of others fuck em.

I just had the same thing (with EON) wouldn't let me Log in to my online account so I emailed them the readings

To be fair they did reply to confirm receipt

Paying by direct debit gets you the cheapest tariff so carry on. Paying the correct amount, i.e. enough, will stop the debt getting higher as you will only have to pay in the end.

Do the calculations yourself if you are not sure of their figures, easy enough in excel if you can work out your usage history.

I'm the Building Services Manager for 84 flats in Pimlico. I've been inundated with requests for readings today!! All the meters are located in the sub basement of the underground car park so I've been up & down all morning.

Last minute cuntshovels!! They could have requested this info gently over the course of this past week but no, has to be today :)

Wouldn't it be easier to just take the readings on all of them and jot it down so you can reference it for any flat that calls?

That was supposed to be to Chinky...

DagenhamDave - nah they're not all here the leaseholders. Lots abroad still or down at their country piles. I don't mind but they've had all week. I'm just a lazy fucker.

FarCough - Ag. Indeed:)

Re: Meter Reading Day
Put mine through to Octopus first thing as thought the sites would crash during the day. They are "validating" my gas reading. Probably because I used 70 odd units same month last year and have been freezing my bollocks off by only using 28 units this last month!! Will probably send another last thing tonight, being the frugal skint bugger I am!

"Paying by direct debit gets you the cheapest tariff..."

Anybody actually stopped to thing why that could be? Same gas, same pipes, same meter, same supplier.

Just saying, like...
